Behind HomeCave Records is the CEO and visionary Shawn Cheatham, Sr. that turned the label into reality. Cheatham is an acclaimed former recording artist standing as DJ Shawn with the group Rock N' Gee & DJ Shawn on Polygram/Mercury Records in the late 80s and early 90s.  His industry history includes serving as a jazz radio host for 89.1 WFDU-FM at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  He also served as the radio host & management with WCSR The Sporty 640 AM under the alias DJ Slim C  at Cheyney University. Cheatham has been a disc jockey at countless celebrity parties for Ron Isley, Kid N' Play, Mike Tyson, The Good Girls, Nice & Smooth, Al B. Sure, and more... Cheatham had the privilege to be a music and sound coordinator for industry award shows and events sponsored by JET, Ebony, Diva Gals, R&B Live, and Fashion Fair.  Mentoring came by way of radio personalities of WDAS with Mimi & Butterball (Philadelphia), WBLS/WLIB with Hal Jackson & Debbie B (New York), and WRKS KISS FM with Jeff Foxx & Kool DJ Red Alert (New York).

Investing in oneself has always been his motto, and that mission hasn't changed to today except shifting attention to the talents of his two  wonderful children Veve C and Shawn Navi.  Their aspirations in the music business and dedication is the reason he endures they are best equipped to work this game.  This is the base of how HomeCave Records, LLC was established.
