MUSIC IS THE HEART AND SOUL TO A PEACEFUL SPIRIT!

Shawn Cheatham, Sr blessings as a disc-jockey quietly started in his senior year at Teaneck High School, where he had access to his cousin Mike's equipment and ambitions to emulate DJ classmates.  While attending Cheyney University, his disc-jockey interest expanded by joining the college radio station (WCSR-640AM) as DJ Slim Cee.  It was there he learned how to mastermix and scratch, which some came by way of the often visiting hip-hop pioneer  & phenom DJ Jazzy Jeff.  Before transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck Campus), he proudly served WCSR as the assistant station manager.  It was during his employment and education at FDU that his music endeavors grew stronger and the DJ Shawn brand began.  In the middle of 1989 and many Hillside Studio recordings later for Hunsar Records (Tony Bennett's Home), Rock N' Gee & DJ Shawn signed a 9 year contract with Polygram Records (Mercury) with the release of the first 12" single Swing Beat with b-side Dual Tones.  After the Swing Beat video release in November 1989 and different performances with Third Base, A Tribe Called Quest, Special Ed, Biz Markie, The Afros, and KRS-1 to name a few; Swing Beat ranked #90 out of the Top 100 in the world within all genre of music in 1990. Polygram Records relieved Rock N' Gee & DJ Shawn from its contract relationship, along with he being released from the insane management contract.  This would contribute to the downfall of national greatness for the JUK Posse.  The DJ Shawn brand continued by providing entertainment for star parties and events, which includes the likings of Al B. Sure, Ron Isley, Kid N' Play, The Good Girls, Nice & Smooth, and even Mike Tyson to name a few.  In addition, he had the privilege in serving as a back-up for Kool DJ Red Alert and mentored by Jeff Foxx,
